My name is Cornelius Gerard Vincent-Enright and I am a Fitness Consultant Sports/Alternative Therapist. Fit For Life has been a major part of my life since 1979.

As a young man I was a sprinter at secondary school. Well actually I was the 3rd best sprinter in my county of Roscommon in the west of Ireland, not that I am boasting!

In 1979 I completed a Diploma course in Anatomy, Psychology, Remedial Massage and Gym Instruction with The Swedish School of Physical Culture.

I ran my first marathon in Dublin in 1982 and achieved a very respectable time of 3hrs 10mins. I also ran the Derry marathon in 1982 in 3hrs. After overcoming my fear of water (after nearly drowning twice in two swimming pools) I swam the BT Swimathon on my own in 3hrs. 3mins. 32secs.

I have also taken part in (and finished!) the London to Brighton bike ride twice in aid of the British Heart Foundation.

Most recently I completed the Waters Walk in aid of Water Aid. This is a twelve-mile walk, mainly on B roads and across fields from Eyebrook Reservoir to Rutland Water here in Rutland, which has now been my home since December 2004.

I started up my own company Fit For Life in 1995 where I worked with clients on a one-to-one basis and had (as did my clients) great success.

My aims:

Since 2007 I have concentrated on promoting a healthy lifestyle and wellbeing. My mission is to provide people with sound, proven, practical and safe advice to achieve their own personal goals. I am not in the business of getting involved in the latest marketing fad – a wheel is a wheel and always will be. I can help you achieve your personal goals, but you will have to do the work! However, I will be there to support and advise you all the way.

Let’s make today the first day of the rest of your life! It is never too late to take control of your own personal health and wellbeing, however old you are. Any increased activity will have benefits.

Please be assured that it will be tailor made to suit you. It will be attainable and you will feel a sense of purpose and achievement.

My qualifications:

I brought all my qualifications up to date in 1994/1995 with Premier Training and Development Ltd incorporating a Diploma course in Fitness Training and Sports Therapy which included:

  • Fitness Instruction and Gymnasium Management
  • Fitness Testing and Physical Assessment
  • Stress Management
  • Lifestyle Consultation
